Oil Lift out: non-digital

So I did a previous project where I had to recreate this technique in Photoshop but now I have used it with REAL oils! I love the result and it was really nice to paint something again.

So here are some random doodles from my sketchbook. They aren't that great but it shows that yes I have been doing something art related this summer. I've had a thing for floating heads lately I guess.

Final illustrations for class

So here are the final 4 illustrations I did for my Digital Illustration class.

We had to come up with 4 imaginary bugs. Mine all live in an office environment. 

I stayed up until 5 AM finishing these so they better look darn good! I got an A so that made me happy.

The shadow isn't that good but the rest I really like. I made TONS of pattern brushes in Photoshop for this and it was lots of fun.

      

Instinct

Lemmings have a natural instinct to migrate when their population gets too large. Sometimes this results in an untimely death off a cliff.

 

Celebration:Illustration Friday

 I always thought it was funny when over zealous pet owners throw elaborate parties for their pets on their birthdays.

I thought my drawing for this was really fun but the paint technique I had to use didn't really work with it. I like the dog though.

The White Rabbit: first thing that came to my head at the mention of "time". Well maybe not the first but it works.

Again, I'm not too happy with the finished product but for the time I had it's not too bad.

Paper cutout practice

This is what I came up with for this new technique we learned in class. 

I'm actually pretty excited with the end result. The image wasn't supposed to looked this washed out, but oh well.
